Deconstructionalist Literary Diarrhea

I’ve been jobless since November..and it sucks! Seeing that I’ve been working since 16, its a different change of pace to not do jack shit and vegetate my life away (sometimes) by being a complete lazy ass at home. However, the new year has come and I have already made an effort to find a new job. Upon searching on craigslist.com, I found an ad as a secretary at a “medical dispensary.” Of course I called the woman in charge and got an interview for the job. For those of you not in the know, a medical dispensary is also known as a cannabis club. Naturally, I was excited for the prospects of working at a club and the possible benefits I’d be getting

I mapquested the address and coincidently enough, happened to be a club I’ve visited several times with my friend. I don’t have a prescription nor am I a caregiver, but my friend is, so I used to go with her while she bought some bud. Anyway, I walk in and I’ve never seen so much weed in my life. It was awesome. The interview went well (although it was distracting having a huge trash bag of weed in front of me during the interview), and the woman who interviewed me wanted to setup a second interview.

I called them today to do the usual follow-up, and she informed me that the business is now closed because they got robbed on Thursday! What the fuck? There’s such a conflict of interest because California has cannabis clubs and a liberal stance, especially in L.A., but crime is so ridiculous that people get everything from cars to weed jacked. Assholes. They totally ruined it for me. I was totally looking forward to working there, but I guess the main reasons was to get a better hook and the fact that I was so amused by the entire situation.

So now, I’m still jobless and have to do a 9-5 stint like any other person working for the man. It doesn’t even matter anymore, I just want a job and some money! I think I’d turn out like this if it actually did work out
